The Sol System is the home system of the Terrans.  Its primary planet is Earth, which was the capital of the Terran Alliance.  Sol, along with all the other systems under Terran control, were captured by the Dominion during the Galactic War.  Sol was the last system to fall from Alliance power when Earth was raided on May 2, 1999.  High-ranking officers and President Robert T. Cirrus were murdered in front of a crowd that evening.

Captain Jason Stratman was awarded his rank due to his bravery and courage during the Galactic War, before and after his graduation from the Academy.  During his years in the Academy, he, along with nineteen other pilots, flew a distraction mission into the Gamma Quadrant.  Operation: Give And Go was a failure, and three cadets were lost, however, Stratman quickly jumped into the leadership role leading the rest of his fellow cadets back to safety.  Stratman has been involved in a number of Galactic War conflicts.  His location is currently unknown, and he is believed to have been killed in the Dominion Takeover.

The Sybok System is home to the Vurtulan.  The system was forcefully taken from the Vurtulan Federation by Dominion forces during the Galactic War.  Even though the Vurtulan remained neutral throughout the entire four year war, the Dominion, after defeating the Lyse System on April 4, 1999, decided to invade Vurtulan territory and demand the surrender of forces.  When the Vurtulan did not reply, Dominion forces invaded both systems and the only Space Station and placed military units on the surfaces.
